Anyway, just a quick reminder to tell you that our first experiment at Think Orange went online last week: Roadie.

Roadie is a free service where you pick the artists or bands that interest you and we’ll generate a customized RSS Feed or iCal with their new releases.

Right now, importing your artists from Last.fm is a bit slow as well as generating the feed for the first time but once it’s on your feed reader it’s good to go. Add it to your Netvibes, Google Page or favorite feed reader and never miss another release.

With Roadie done it’s time to look forward for new experiments and projects, expect 2010 to be very busy.

The first day was dedicated to the Ruby programming language, it’s history, advantages and why it was chosen as the backbone for the Ruby on Rails framework. The end of the session was teased by a little introduction to Rails and the 15 minute video explaining how to build a blog.

The second day was all about Ruby on Rails, the fundamentals, the MVC pattern, REST and all that we could pack in the short time we had. There was time to build a small web app to manage workshops and registrations.

There was room for lot’s of dialog and discussion about some of Rails technical choices, advantages, disadvantages, troubles and personal advices.  The presentations are available at SlideShare and the source-code can be found at Github, so you can download, fork it, change, push or do with it as you please.

I’m sure there was much more to talk about but we had to condense all we could into the little time frame we had. I had a terrific good time and I hopefully there will be new opportunities in the future for more quick workshops.
