Star Trek Movie: go watch it

Tonight I went to watch the new Star Trek movie and I must say, it’s truly the first blockbuster of the year (X-Men Origins: Wolverine had very poor writing despite some good acting effort) and problably the best in the franchise.

To me, Star Trek 2: Wrath of Khan is still a classic and a high point for the series but J.J. Abrams managed to pull off a legendary film while rebooting and bringing a combination of youth and energy to the series. He also managed to do with without hurting what’s been done before but that would be expected since he’s an expert on time travel issues… *wink* *wink*

So, to sum things up, fantastic movie, go watch it even if you don’t usually like science-fiction or Star Trek.
